Dear New Hockey Parents:
The Fox Creek Minor Hockey Association (FCMHA) strives for a healthy active living environment that develops quality hockey players, friendships, unforgettable experiences and skills to create
success in life through the game of hockey.
Hockey can be a huge expense, as a hockey parent going into our third year, I know this personally. It's never easy going away for the weekend and trying not to spend a lot of money, but at times I am not sure who is more excited to go; me, or my son.
You don't have to watch the NHL faithfully or know all the rules of hockey to be interested. In my opinion the moment your child steps on that ice for the first time, scores their first goal, the pride you feel when they get their first hat trick, hockey medal or trophy and the excitement you see in their eyes is well worth the time and money.
The FCMHA has discussed tirelessly how we as a board and community, can encourage our young people to become involved in hockey.
I've always heard people talk about their hockey families, I never understood, until I became part of one. The offers to help take kids to practice and games were endless and the new friendships we, as a family, have made are amazing.
To quote The Great One, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take!” Why not give your child a shot at hockey, what have you got to lose!
